Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia: Resort 2018 collections officially wrapped up last night in Sydney, Australia.

A whirlwind week of shows and shoots, the TYSON AND PEPPA team had the absolute pleasure of working closely with the rising star of the week, Yousef Akbar.

Akbar's first solo MBFWA collection debuted with an "exploration into life and emotion, creative contrast and harmony." The collection focused on the emotion of heartbreak and challenged the convention of construction.

Fascinated by the interaction of cloth to body, Akbar's aesthetic has always been about challenging convention in the cutting and constructing of his garments whilst maintaining elegance and femininity.

I was honoured to be given a sneak peak before the show & also to be sat front row to officially take over Yousef's Instagram account for his big day.

I also caught up with Akbar the day before his show so he could walk me through the life of his Resort 18' collection.

He told TYSONPEPPA.COM “One of the main things I focused on was the heartbreak and the fantasy, the opposing worlds in colours, in shapes, in textures, hard and fluid. This woman has had her heartbroken and is peeping through her wooden shack shutters for protection."

This power house 31 year old had a roaring, standing ovation as the last model walked. Uniting the entire front and back of house to erupt in absolute joy for the designer.

The broken-hearted definitely united for a collection of colour and new energy.

Come along and join me on my behind the scenes/ Front Row takeover!
